Plano, TX (September 10, 2025) – A devastating crash overnight claimed the life of a 27-year-old man after a vehicle reportedly ran a red light at a busy Plano intersection.
Plano police responded to the fatal collision around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of West Plano Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway access road. Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious male inside one of the vehicles. Despite emergency efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
According to eyewitness accounts and a police statement, a Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on the access road when it allegedly disregarded a red traffic signal. The Camry collided with a Dodge Dart that was traveling westbound through the intersection. After the initial impact, the Camry struck a traffic signal pole.
The 38-year-old woman driving the Dart was reportedly uninjured, though authorities noted she was assessed on-site as part of standard protocol. Investigators remained at the scene for several hours, documenting evidence and reviewing witness statements. The intersection reopened by approximately 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The crash remains under investigation by the Plano Police Department.
