Intersection Accidents in East Portland
Busy intersections such as SE 174th Ave and SE Division St are common locations for injury crashes in East Portland. The Oregon Department of Transportation reports that collisions at urban intersections are frequently linked to driver distraction, failure to yield, or red-light violations.
Division St serves as a major arterial road, carrying both local and commuter traffic, which increases the risk of high-impact collisions. Safety experts advise drivers to reduce speed when approaching busy cross streets, remain attentive to traffic signals, and watch for turning or crossing vehicles.
City transportation officials continue to implement safety improvements, including upgraded signals, better signage, and targeted enforcement in high-risk areas to help reduce accident rates.
