Portland, OR (August 9, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle and pedestrian crash occurred Thursday, August 7, around 11:46 AM on the 5900 block of NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in the King neighborhood of Portland. The crash involved a Ford Escape, a Hyundai SUV, a Buick sedan, and a Toyota pickup truck, resulting in a fatality and multiple injuries.
According to local authorities, the Ford Escape was traveling northbound when it veered onto the sidewalk near the Jerrett St. bus stop. The SUV struck two men and narrowly missed a child. The driver of the SUV then sideswiped a Hyundai SUV, crossed a median, and collided head-on with a Buick sedan and a Toyota pickup truck.
One man was killed at the scene, and his identity is pending release. Four individuals, including the SUV driver, were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. One pedestrian was reported to be in life-threatening condition.
