Prince George’s County, MD (August 4, 2025) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run collision early on Saturday morning on Route 202 near Wood Branch Ct, prompting a three-hour highway closure and a continued investigation by Maryland State Police.
Officials confirmed that 43-year-old Leroy Wedge was struck while attempting to cross the roadway. The vehicle involved, believed to be a 2012–2014 GMC Terrain or Chevrolet Equinox, fled the scene following the collision. Wedge died at the scene as a result of the impact.
Troopers responded to the crash shortly after it occurred, shutting down the highway to conduct a thorough investigation and clear the area.
