Redwood City, CA (September 16, 2025) – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Sunday afternoon following a collision with a sedan on Highway 84 near Portola Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 1:17 p.m. on September 14, along a winding and heavily traveled stretch of roadway near the foothills west of Redwood City.
Preliminary information indicates that the motorcycle and a passenger sedan collided under circumstances that have not yet been confirmed. Due to the severity of the rider’s injuries, an air ambulance was requested. The victim was flown to a nearby hospital for advanced trauma care. Authorities have not released the name or current condition of the injured motorcyclist.
CHP officers and emergency crews responded to the scene and temporarily shut down portions of Highway 84 to accommodate medical transport and conduct an initial investigation. The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No additional injuries were reported.
An active investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
