Rio Rancho, NM (September 24, 2025) – Emergency responders were dispatched Tuesday evening to a traffic accident with injuries at the intersection of Westside Blvd NW and New Mexico State Road 528 (NM-528) in Rio Rancho. The crash was reported shortly after 8:12 PM local time, prompting a response from Engine 21 and Rescue 21 units.
Upon arrival, medics assessed individuals involved in the crash and provided on-site treatment for injuries sustained. The number of people hurt and the severity of their injuries have not yet been released by officials, but medical attention was confirmed at the scene.
This intersection is a heavily traveled zone that connects residential neighborhoods with commercial corridors. With consistent evening traffic, especially along NM-528, the risk of collisions tends to increase during peak driving hours. The circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation.
