Rochester, NY (January 16, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Thursday involving people trapped inside their vehicle on Route 490 eastbound near mile marker 27.7.

First responders arrived swiftly and initiated rescue operations to extricate occupants who were unable to exit the wreckage. Multiple individuals suffered injuries as a result of the crash, and medics provided immediate care at the scene. At least one person was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The incident caused major traffic disruptions along Route 490 as lanes were closed to accommodate rescue operations and an active crash investigation.
