Sacramento, CA (August 19, 2025) – Firefighters from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded early Tuesday morning to a residential fire in the Florin area that left one person injured. The incident occurred around 5:05 a.m. at a home on Fairlawn Ct, near El Terraza Dr.
Crews arrived to find the garage of the residence fully engulfed in flames, with the fire rapidly spreading into the main portion of the home. Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of the occupants.
According to fire officials, the family living in the home was asleep when they were awakened by a loud “boom” followed by the sound of glass shattering. Flames began moving quickly through the entryway and into the living room, prompting the family to evacuate the home.
While all residents were able to escape the burning structure, one family member suffered a foot injury while exiting through a window. That individual was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care. No other injuries were reported.
Fire crews worked to fully extinguish the blaze and prevent further damage to surrounding homes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
