Salem, MA (January 16, 2026) – A Salem police officer was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Thursday night while conducting an investigation on Pope St, prompting an active search for the fleeing driver.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. as the officer, a female member of the Salem Police Department, was engaged in a criminal investigation. According to officials, she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Emergency responders quickly arrived and transported the officer to Salem Hospital, where she is being evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries.
