San Bernardino County, CA (August 2, 2025) – A man was killed and another person was injured in a serious truck accident on Friday afternoon near Vidal in eastern San Bernardino County.
The collision was reported around 1:49 p.m. on Hwy 62 near Chambers Well, where a semi-truck towing another semi collided with a Chevrolet truck under circumstances still under investigation. Medics and fire crews worked to assist those suffering from injuries after the collision. One individual was pronounced deceased at the scene, while another was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment.
The crash caused a rupture in the diesel tank of the towed semi-truck, resulting in a significant fuel spill across the roadway. Cleanup and investigation efforts temporarily disrupted traffic in the area as emergency personnel worked to manage the scene and assess the environmental impact.
