San Diego, CA (September 18, 2025) – A 10-year-old child sustained injuries following a two-vehicle collision that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the Altadena neighborhood of San Diego. The crash, reported around 2:31 p.m., left one vehicle at the scene while the other fled northbound on Altadena.
Responding crews from San Diego Fire evaluated the young victim, who reportedly suffered a seatbelt-related injury during the impact. Although the exact extent of the injury has not been disclosed, medics remained on-site to assess and provide necessary medical care.
Witnesses described the vehicle that fled as a green four-door sedan last seen traveling north on Altadena. Law enforcement was requested to respond to the scene and take a report. It’s currently unclear if the suspect driver has been identified or located.
The crash occurred in a residential zone where children frequently walk home from nearby schools, raising community concern over both the collision and the decision of the second driver to flee without rendering aid. Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
We hope the child makes a full and swift recovery and that those responsible are quickly located and held accountable.
