San Diego, CA (January 17, 2026) – A high-speed scooter crash left one individual injured in the area of Children’s Way in San Diego. The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m. and involved a 44-year-old male rider who lost control of his motorized scooter while traveling at an estimated 30 to 40 miles per hour.
According to emergency radio reports, the unhelmeted rider suffered right shoulder trauma and multiple abrasions after the scooter began to wobble at high speed, causing him to fall and slide approximately 10 feet. Paramedics from San Diego Fire-Rescue arrived on scene and assessed the rider, who remained alert and oriented. He was found on the roadside accompanied by his mother.
