San Diego, CA (February 3, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) near State Route 163 (SR-163) resulted in injuries and traffic delays Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The accident occurred around 1:26 p.m., involving a silver Chevrolet Bolt and a dark-colored SUV or pickup truck. Reports indicate that a white SUV swerved across multiple lanes, causing the collision. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist the injured. One female victim was reported to have sustained a head injury, while a male involved in the crash had yet to exit his vehicle.
Traffic was severely impacted as the crash blocked the #2 and #3 lanes, with additional vehicle debris obstructing lanes #1 through #3. Tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles, and authorities worked to clear the roadway.
