Santa Ana, CA (January 5, 2025) – Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed in a traffic collision near 1st Street and Centre Street as George Estrada Tellez, 63, of Costa Mesa. The tragic incident occurred around 6:00 PM on January 3.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, Tellez was walking in the eastbound lanes of 1st Street when he was struck by two vehicles. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Tellez was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
Both drivers involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Preliminary reports indicate that alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the crash. The circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause.
