The crash occurred on the westbound side of the highway near mile marker 34, prompting emergency lane closures and extensive traffic backups throughout the area.
According to Florida 511, the crash was reported around 3:38 p.m. and initially blocked all westbound lanes near the SA Jones overpass bridge. Eastbound traffic was also affected, reduced to one lane at the time of the incident. The Florida Department of Transportation labeled the crash as “major” in severity, and first responders worked for several hours to clear the scene and restore traffic flow.
By 5:00 p.m., officials confirmed that traffic had resumed on I-10 westbound, though residual delays continued into the evening as crews completed cleanup and recovery. The cause of the crash has not yet been released, and it is unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident.
