Savannah, GA (January 17, 2026) – A tragic collision claimed the lives of two individuals, prompting an hours-long closure of a major section of Abercorn Street in Savannah. The crash occurred near the stretch between Montgomery Cross Road and Television Circle, leading to a full shutdown of traffic in both directions.
According to officials, the deadly crash took place during the afternoon hours on January 16 and involved multiple vehicles. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene and worked for several hours to investigate and clear the area.
Both victims were pronounced dead as a result of the crash. Their identities have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
