Seattle, WA (January 17, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision involving a white semi-tractor and a white sedan occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 5 just south of SR-520 during the early morning commute on January 16. The crash was reported at approximately 7:47 a.m. and resulted in at least one person sustaining injuries.
The vehicles collided in the left lane, leading to traffic disruptions as emergency responders worked to access the scene and assess those involved. Paramedics were dispatched to provide medical assistance, though the extent of the injuries and the total number of occupants impacted have not been publicly released.
Due to the size of the commercial vehicle involved, responders took extra precautions to manage traffic flow while clearing the crash site. The left lane remained closed temporarily during the response and investigation, contributing to early morning delays for northbound drivers on I-5.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. We extend our best wishes to those injured and hope for a full and timely recovery.
