Seminole County, FL (September 9, 2025) – A young woman tragically lost her life late Monday night after her SUV veered off State Road 434 and plunged into a retention pond near Lake Hayes Rd in Seminole County. The fatal crash occurred around 10:45 p.m., according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities confirmed the victim was a 25-year-old woman from Oviedo. She had been traveling northbound on SR-434—also known as Alafaya Trail—when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle left the roadway and entered the water. Emergency crews were called to the scene and worked swiftly to locate and extract the driver from the submerged vehicle.
She was transported to Oviedo Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. No passengers were reported, and no other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash. FHP has not released the woman’s identity at this time, pending family notification.
