Shannon County, MO (August 9, 2025) – A crash occurred Friday evening, August 8, at approximately 6:55 PM on Old Highway 60, half a mile west of Birch Tree, Missouri. The crash involved a 2005 Pontiac Montana that traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking multiple trees and overturning.
The driver, a 40-year-old male from Winona, MO, was found with moderate injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. A 41-year-old female occupant, also from Winona, MO, sustained serious injuries and was similarly transported to Mercy Hospital via air ambulance.
The vehicle, which sustained total damage, was towed by Bakers Towing at the owner’s request. Authorities, including MSGT S.N. Foster and CPL D.E. Rogers, assisted with the investigation and response to the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officials are working to determine whether any factors such as speed, distracted driving, or road conditions contributed to the incident.
