These crashes typically occur when drivers enter highways in the wrong direction, as seen in this incident on U.S. Route 15. In Pennsylvania, such accidents are relatively rare but can be catastrophic due to the high speeds involved.
In Cumberland County and across the state, efforts are being made to reduce wrong-way driving incidents through enhanced signage, road design improvements, and public awareness campaigns. However, drivers should remain vigilant, particularly when navigating highways and interchanges.
