Sinton, TX (January 17, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision just south of Sinton left one person hospitalized Friday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The crash occurred shortly before noon on US Highway 77 near the intersection with County Road 1196.
Officials say a Dodge Charger was traveling southbound in the outside lane of Hwy 77 when the driver attempted to make a left-hand turn onto County Rd 1196 — a maneuver that required crossing the inside lane. At that moment, a Ford F-350 traveling in the inside lane struck the rear left side of the Charger.
The impact forced the Charger off the roadway and into the grassy median, while the F-350 came to a stop on Hwy 77. Emergency medical personnel responded quickly, and EMS crews had to extricate the driver of the Charger from the vehicle. He was airlifted by HALO Flight to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The driver of the Ford F-350 was uninjured, according to DPS. Authorities have not released the identity of those involved, and the incident remains under investigation by state troopers.
We extend our thoughts to the injured driver and wish him a full recovery.
