Spring Hill, FL (August 9, 2025) – A tragic incident occurred Thursday morning when an 86-year-old man from Spring Hill was struck and killed by a motorcyclist on Monday, August 4, 2025. The man was standing in the road after being involved in a previous crash when the motorcycle collided with him.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 86-year-old man had been swerving in the road and was potentially experiencing a medical emergency, causing him to lose control. A witness driving behind him confirmed the erratic behavior, and dashcam footage has been turned over to authorities.
Troopers report that the motorcyclist, a 48-year-old Spring Hill man, was unable to avoid the collision. Despite swerving to miss the man, the motorcyclist struck him, and the crash resulted in the 86-year-old man’s death at the scene. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with injuries but is expected to recover.
The investigation continues, and authorities have confirmed there were no signs of impairment from the motorcyclist.
