Emergency crews from St. Charles County Ambulance District responded quickly to the scene, and the injured individual, a 33-year-old female, was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The incident occurred when Vehicle 1, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, swerved to avoid a collision with an unknown vehicle, crossing the center of the roadway. In doing so, it struck Vehicle 2, a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan, on the driver’s side. Both vehicles began skidding and sliding clockwise across the road. The Chevrolet Silverado then struck a concrete barrier, while the Volkswagen Tiguan came to a stop after the collision.
Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene by Superior Towing. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, a 38-year-old male, was uninjured in the crash. However, the 33-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan was transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash, which may have helped reduce the severity of their injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with authorities working to identify the unknown vehicle that caused the Chevrolet Silverado to swerve.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this accident, and we wish the injured driver a speedy recovery.
