St. Charles, MO (January 3, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash occurred Thursday afternoon on Highway N westbound, east of Gallop Lane, resulting in one injury. The collision, reported at approximately 3:28 p.m. today, involved a 2020 Jeep Wrangler, a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze, and a 2012 Nissan Altima.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when Vehicles 2 (Chevrolet Cruze) and 3 (Nissan Altima) were stopped for an animal in the roadway. The driver of Vehicle 1 (Jeep Wrangler) failed to slow in time, striking the rear of the Chevrolet. The impact pushed the Chevrolet into the rear of the Nissan, causing a chain reaction.
The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze, a 23-year-old woman from Lake St. Louis, sustained injuries and was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital by St. Charles County Ambulance for treatment. The other drivers were uninjured, and their vehicles were either driven from the scene or secured roadside.
Authorities are investigating the incident and reminding motorists to remain vigilant and maintain safe following distances, especially when approaching stopped traffic.
