Rear-End Collisions and Traffic Conditions in St. Charles County
Rear-end collisions remain a common hazard on major Missouri highways such as I-64, especially in congested areas near major interchanges like Missouri 364. Failing to maintain a proper lookout or follow at a safe distance can quickly result in crashes when traffic slows unexpectedly.
Missouri State Highway Patrol data from 2024 shows that rear-end crashes on I-64 frequently occur during evening hours when visibility decreases and driver fatigue increases. Moderate-speed impacts can still lead to significant injuries, especially when traffic stops abruptly.
Drivers are encouraged to stay alert, avoid distractions, and maintain safe distances from vehicles ahead.
