St. Francois Co, MO (September 8, 2025) – A vehicle collision with moderate injuries occurred early on Monday morning at the intersection of Missouri 221 and Heinrich Road in St. Francois County. The crash, reported at approximately 12:40 a.m., involved two vehicles: a 2007 Buick Lucerne and a 2017 Chevrolet 2500.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Vehicle 1 (a 2007 Buick Lucerne) was traveling northbound on Missouri 221 when the driver, a 36-year-old male from Bismarck, MO, attempted to pass on a blind curve. This maneuver caused the front of the Buick to strike the left side of the southbound Chevrolet 2500, driven by a 39-year-old male from Pilot Knob, MO.
The collision resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, and both were towed to Buckley’s Towing. The driver of the Buick Lucerne was injured and was transported to Parkland Health Center in Farmington by St. Francois County Ambulance. Fortunately, no one else was injured in the crash.
Neither driver involved had safety devices (seatbelts) in use at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the injuries sustained. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but preliminary reports indicate that passing on a blind curve played a critical role in the incident.
