Lane-Change Crashes in Missouri
Unsafe lane changes are a frequent cause of multi-vehicle collisions, particularly on busy interstates where traffic moves at high speeds and lane shifts happen quickly. Sunday’s crash on I-70 demonstrates how a single improper maneuver can trigger a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles.
Missouri traffic safety officials advise drivers to check mirrors and blind spots thoroughly, signal intentions well in advance, and ensure there is adequate space before changing lanes. Remaining aware of surrounding traffic and avoiding sudden movements can help reduce the risk of similar accidents.
