The driver of the Honda was seriously injured and transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford sustained moderate injuries and was also taken to medical care. The crash remains under investigation.
Our thoughts go out to the victims as we hope for their recovery.
Intersection Collision Hazards in Southeast Louisiana
Multi-vehicle crashes at intersections such as LA 36 and LA 3241 often occur where speed, visibility, and traffic control features converge with high-traffic volumes. The tragic incident in St. Tammany Parish illustrates how quickly collisions can escalate when vehicles enter active cross-traffic lanes.
According to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, intersections remain among the most hazardous locations for crashes, with failure to yield, distracted driving, and unrestrained occupants playing a frequent role in fatal outcomes. The use of seat belts has consistently been shown to reduce the risk of fatal injury in such cases.
Drivers are urged to approach intersections cautiously, ensure full stops at controlled junctions, and avoid entering cross lanes without verifying clearance. Proper use of safety restraints remains one of the most effective tools for minimizing injury severity in any crash scenario.
