Motorcycle Accidents in Michigan Suburbs
Collisions involving motorcycles, such as the one on 18 1/2 Mile Rd in Sterling Heights, often result in serious injuries due to the limited protection offered to riders. Even a relatively low-speed crash with a passenger vehicle can cause significant trauma, including broken bones and head or limb injuries.
According to the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning, motorcycle crashes are more likely to result in injury or fatality than other types of roadway incidents. In suburban areas like Sterling Heights, busy roadways, frequent left turns, and driver inattention are common contributing factors.
Motorcyclists involved in such crashes may face long recoveries, mounting medical bills, and insurance hurdles. It’s crucial that injured riders document their injuries and the scene, follow up with proper medical care, and consider legal guidance if the crash was caused by another party’s failure to yield or recognize the motorcycle’s right-of-way.
