Stevensville, MD (January 23, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a reported explosion and structure fire at 339 Log Canoe Circle in Stevensville on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 PM and prompted a large-scale response from multiple fire departments and emergency units.
Initial reports indicated an explosion followed by a fire, with the building’s sprinkler system activating to help contain the blaze. Upon arrival, first responders noted no visible fire from the exterior. However, interior crews reported heavy damage inside the structure, with the sprinkler system successfully holding the fire in check.
Three individuals were treated for injuries by EMS. Fortunately, all civilians were accounted for, and no additional injuries were reported. Units from Kent Island, Grasonville, United Communities, Queenstown, Centreville, Anne Arundel County, and other neighboring agencies assisted at the scene. Hazmat teams from Cambridge were also deployed as a precaution.
The cause of the explosion and fire remains under investigation by local authorities.
