Sumrall, MS (June 02, 2025) – Three people were injured in a major crash involving three vehicles on Mississippi 589 near Oloh Road in Lamar County on Monday morning, June 2.
According to Investigator Jay Bass with the Sumrall Police Department, the crash occurred when one vehicle, traveling southbound, crossed the center lane and collided with a northbound vehicle. Shortly after the initial collision, a third car rear-ended the northbound vehicle. One of the cars ended up in a ditch.
The crash involved four people, and emergency crews quickly responded to the scene. Two of the injured victims were airlifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The third person was transported by ambulance for further evaluation. The fourth individual was uninjured.
Fortunately, the injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening, but the victims’ conditions remain under evaluation.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash. Authorities have not yet released details about the cause of the accident.
