Syracuse, NY (January 30, 2026) – Police reported an accident with injuries on Friday afternoon on Hiawatha Boulevard at the intersection with 1st North Street, prompting a traffic and emergency response in both directions of the roadway.
The crash occurred around 3:05 p.m. in a busy commercial corridor near Destiny USA and key access routes to I-81. At least two vehicles were involved in the collision, and emergency medical services were called to assist those injured at the scene.
Medics provided treatment to one or more individuals for injuries sustained in the crash. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for further care. The current condition of the victims has not been disclosed.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Hiawatha Blvd were affected as responders worked to stabilize the scene and clear the wreckage. Syracuse police helped manage traffic and began an investigation into the cause of the crash, which remains ongoing.
