Syracuse, NY (January 17, 2026) – At least one person was injured following a vehicle accident at the intersection of Gifford St and Oswego St in Syracuse’s Near Westside neighborhood on January 16.
The incident occurred during the afternoon hours and prompted a response from local emergency crews. Individuals involved in the collision were assessed at the scene, and at least one was treated for injuries. The severity of those injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Responders temporarily restricted traffic in the area while assisting those involved and clearing the roadway. Authorities have not released information regarding the number of vehicles or the cause of the crash.
An investigation is underway as officers work to determine what led to the collision.
