Tacoma, WA (January 17, 2026) – A two-vehicle hit-and-run crash south of Portland Avenue East left at least one person injured during the early morning hours of January 17. The incident was reported around 2:49 a.m., prompting a response from police and medical personnel to assess the scene and search for the fleeing vehicle.
According to initial reports, a white 2007 Saturn Vue or a similar pickup truck was involved in the collision and fled the scene heading southbound. The suspect vehicle sustained visible front-end damage. The second vehicle involved remained on the right shoulder of the roadway, and the caller advised they were no longer able to see the fleeing driver.
Emergency crews arrived to evaluate the scene and provide medical assistance to the injured party. The full extent of injuries has not yet been disclosed, but responders remained for a period to assist and gather additional information.
