Taney County, MO (January 17, 2026) – A head-on collision along MO-F, one mile west of Merriam Woods, left two individuals seriously injured on the evening of January 16. The crash occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Authorities report that a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500, driven eastbound by a 25-year-old man from Merriam Woods, crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling westbound. The driver of the Tahoe, a 63-year-old man from Rockaway Beach, was wearing a seatbelt and sustained unknown injuries. The Dodge driver and his 26-year-old female passenger, also from Merriam Woods, were not wearing seatbelts and suffered serious injuries in the crash.
All injured parties were transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment. Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed from the scene by Schrader’s Towing.
The roadway was impacted for a period during the emergency response and cleanup. We send our thoughts to those injured and hope for their full and speedy recovery.
