Temecula, CA (September 24, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash on State Route 79 South left three people injured Monday night just beyond the eastern edge of Temecula’s city limits. The accident occurred around 7:47 p.m. near call box 96, in proximity to the Dripping Springs Campground, a rural area frequented by both commuters and recreational travelers.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived quickly to find significant wreckage and one individual trapped inside a vehicle. Fire personnel initiated extrication efforts and successfully freed the individual from the damaged car.
Paramedics on site evaluated all parties involved and confirmed that two victims sustained moderate injuries, while a third suffered minor injuries. All three were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment. Their identities have not been released.
The California Highway Patrol responded to investigate the cause of the crash. Preliminary findings have not yet been disclosed, and no contributing factors such as speed, impaired driving, or road conditions have been officially confirmed.
Traffic on SR-79 was impacted during emergency operations, but the roadway has since been cleared.
