Tioga, ND (September 20, 2025) – A tragic workplace accident claimed the life of a Watford City man on Thursday morning at a Hess Oil Company pipeline site near Tioga. The Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the incident occurred around 10:35 a.m. at the intersection of 101st Avenue Northwest and 68th Street Northwest in rural Mountrail County.
Authorities said the worker was struck in the head by a piece of pipeline equipment while a crew was performing routine maintenance. Emergency responders, including Tioga Ambulance Service, arrived quickly to find the man suffering from severe bleeding. He was transported to Tioga Medical Center but later died from his injuries.
