Toledo, OH (February 5, 2025) – A fatal wrong-way crash occurred early Tuesday morning on southbound Interstate 75 near the I-280 interchange, according to police reports.
The incident happened just before 3 a.m. when a van, traveling north in the southbound lanes, collided head-on with a semi-truck. Authorities confirmed that at least one person died as a result of the crash.
Surveillance footage from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) shows the van’s driver traveling the wrong way twice, initially making a U-turn from Seaman Road onto I-280 before the fatal crash.
All lanes of I-75 south have since reopened, but the Toledo Police Department (TPD) continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
