Tonawanda, NY (January 17, 2026) – A multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of Grand Island Blvd and River Rd on January 16 left three people injured and required emergency extrication, according to reports from several responding fire departments.
Crews from Brighton, Ellwood, River Road, and Sheridan Park Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene in Erie County after receiving reports of a serious collision involving three vehicles. At least one person was trapped in the wreckage, prompting the use of extrication equipment to remove the occupant safely.
