Tuscola Co, MI – Eight Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at Hurds Corner Rd and Bevens Rd

August 11, 2025

Tuscola County, MI (August 11, 2025) – Eight people were injured on Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hurds Corner Rd and Bevens Rd. The crash occurred at 2:53 p.m., prompting Tuscola County Sheriff’s deputies, fire crews, and EMS to respond to the rural junction.

According to the sheriff’s office, a Dodge Caravan towing a snowmobile trailer was traveling east on Bevens Rd when a Chevrolet Suburban heading north on Hurds Corner Rd failed to yield and struck the Caravan. The impact severely injured all three passengers in the Dodge, who were transported to Covenant for treatment.

Five people inside the Suburban also sustained injuries and were taken to McLaren Lapeer for medical care. Authorities have not released the conditions of those hurt, and the crash remains under investigation.

We extend our thoughts to everyone affected by this incident and hope for their full recovery.

Car Accidents in Michigan

Intersection collisions in rural areas like Hurds Corner and Bevens Rd can be just as severe as those in busier settings, particularly when larger vehicles are involved. In Michigan, failure-to-yield violations remain a leading cause of injury crashes, often resulting in significant damage and multiple victims due to the speed and force of impact.

Saturday’s crash serves as a reminder for drivers to exercise caution when approaching intersections without traffic signals or stoplights. Slowing down, scanning for cross-traffic, and coming to a complete stop before proceeding are critical steps in preventing serious accidents.
