Upland, CA (August 20, 2025) – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Tuesday night following a crash involving multiple vehicles on westbound Interstate 210 just west of Base Line Road. The collision occurred at approximately 10:09 p.m. on August 19 and blocked several lanes of traffic, prompting an extensive emergency response.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved a motorcycle and at least three other vehicles, including a black sedan, a gray Honda CR-V, and a black Cadillac. Reports indicated the motorcyclist was struck and thrown into the #1 lane and HOV lane, where he was found lying on the ground with visible injuries and bleeding. Civilians stopped to help the downed rider prior to the arrival of emergency services.
All lanes were blocked for a time as paramedics treated the injured motorcyclist and multiple other parties involved. The rider was transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility. A SigAlert was issued, and CHP officers set up a traffic break and flared off lanes to allow for cleanup and investigation. Several vehicles were towed from the scene, and a large amount of debris was cleared from the roadway.
Authorities are actively investigating the sequence of events, and no arrests or citations have been announced at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured motorcyclist, and we wish him a full and swift recovery.
Motorcycle Accidents on California Freeways
California’s freeway system, including heavily traveled corridors like I-210 in San Bernardino County, sees a high rate of motorcycle-involved collisions—often with serious consequences. Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable in multi-vehicle crashes due to their lack of external protection, and high-speed impacts often result in severe injuries or fatalities.
Nighttime riding adds additional risks, including limited visibility and increased chances of being overlooked by other drivers. The crash near Base Line Rd on Tuesday night highlights just how dangerous these conditions can be, especially when multiple vehicles are involved in rapid succession.
For victims, the aftermath of a motorcycle crash can be overwhelming. Medical treatment, lost income, physical rehabilitation, and legal complications often follow. In serious cases, long-term disability or psychological trauma may also arise.
When an accident occurs, fast access to trusted care, recovery resources, and legal guidance can make a significant difference in outcomes—especially for motorcycle riders who are more likely to face complex injuries and insurance challenges.
