Vermilion County, IL (September 22, 2025) – A devastating two-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two people Monday morning in Vermilion County. The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Bowman Ave and Poland Rd at approximately 8:24 a.m., according to the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies reported that the crash happened when a vehicle traveling eastbound on Poland Rd failed to yield at the intersection and entered the path of a northbound vehicle on Bowman Ave. The impact between the two vehicles was severe, sending both off the roadway and into a nearby ditch.
Tragically, the sole occupant of the eastbound vehicle and one of the two people in the northbound vehicle were both pronounced dead at the scene. The other individual in the northbound vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not been released.
The names of those involved have not yet been released pending family notifications.
