Washington County, MO (August 11, 2025) – A rollover crash Saturday evening on Dugout Rd left three people injured, including a young child, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. north of Missouri 21.
Investigators say a 2010 Jeep Wrangler, driven westbound by a 42-year-old woman from House Springs, was traveling too fast for roadway conditions. The driver failed to negotiate a right-hand turn, causing the vehicle to leave the left side of the roadway, strike a group of small trees, and overturn.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital South. A male adult passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, also suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South. A 3-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital. The Jeep was totaled and towed from the scene.
Rollover Crashes in Missouri
Rollover crashes are often severe due to the violent motion of the vehicle and the increased likelihood of occupants being ejected or sustaining multiple impacts. Saturday’s incident in Washington County underscores the dangers of excessive speed, particularly on rural roads with curves and limited visibility.
Missouri safety officials stress the importance of adjusting speed to roadway and weather conditions, wearing seatbelts at all times, and ensuring children are secured in proper car seats. Seatbelt use greatly reduces the risk of serious injury in rollover collisions, and unrestrained occupants face a significantly higher chance of being hurt.
