Waterloo, IA (January 16, 2026) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a crash with injuries at the intersection of East Mitchell Avenue and Washington Street in Waterloo on January 15. The collision, reported around 5:40 p.m., involved a white vehicle and a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox.
According to dispatch communications, at least two occupants of the Equinox sustained injuries, including potential head trauma. Medical units arrived on scene to evaluate and treat the victims. While the injuries were described as significant, there was no report of entrapment within the vehicle.
Crews worked to stabilize the injured and manage the crash site, which may have caused temporary delays in the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
