Wayne County, WV (August 28, 2025) – A fatal crash near the entrance to Huntington Tri-State Airport on Wednesday morning claimed the life of one person and left three others injured, according to the Ceredo Volunteer Fire Department.
The crash occurred around 7:30 AM at the intersection of Broad Hollow Road and Airport Road. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, which prompted a significant emergency response. Ceredo Fire Chief Robbie Robson confirmed that one individual died at the scene.
Another person sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital by medical helicopter. Two additional people were transported to the hospital by private vehicle for medical treatment. Their conditions have not been publicly released at this time.
As of the latest update, Airport Road remains closed while authorities continue their investigation and clear the crash site. Drivers heading to or from Huntington Tri-State Airport are being asked to use alternate routes until further notice.
