Webster Parish, LA (August 2, 2025) – Two men lost their lives and two others sustained injuries in a tragic wrong-way crash late on Friday night on U.S. Highway 80 near Barbeque Rd in Webster Parish. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. and involved three vehicles.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop G, a 2017 GMC Yukon driven by 50-year-old Brian Frost of Haughton was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of US Hwy 80. The Yukon collided head-on with a 2024 Kia Forte, which was then struck from behind by a 2016 Dodge Charger.
Both Brian Frost and Kendrick Fisher, the 45-year-old driver of the Kia Forte, also of Haughton, were killed in the crash. Authorities confirmed that both drivers were properly restrained. The Yukon overturned from the impact, contributing to the severity of the multi-vehicle incident.
A passenger in the Kia sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Dodge Charger was hospitalized with minor injuries. All occupants involved in the crash were reported to have been properly restrained.
Louisiana State Police continue to investigate the incident. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families of Brian Frost and Kendrick Fisher.
Head-On Collisions and Wrong-Way Crash Dangers in Louisiana
Wrong-way driving remains one of the most catastrophic types of roadway behavior, often resulting in head-on collisions that leave little opportunity for evasive action. These crashes, as seen in this heartbreaking case in Webster Parish, frequently occur late at night when driver fatigue or impairment can impair judgment.
In Louisiana, nearly half of all fatal crashes involve alcohol or drug impairment. State officials emphasize that driving while impaired, distracted, or drowsy significantly increases the risk of causing or falling victim to deadly collisions. High-speed rural highways such as US Hwy 80 can become deadly when even a single vehicle travels in the wrong direction.
To reduce fatal crash rates, it is critical for all drivers to remain alert, follow traffic signage and lane markings carefully, and avoid nighttime driving when fatigued or under the influence. Safety measures, such as rumble strips and clearer ramp indicators, are being implemented statewide, but personal responsibility remains essential.
