West Des Moines, IA (January 16, 2026) – A vehicle collision involving injuries was reported late in the evening on January 14 near the intersection of Ashworth Road and 50th Street in West Des Moines. Emergency crews were dispatched shortly before midnight to assist at the scene.
The crash involved a white Jeep Grand Cherokee and a silver SUV. Both vehicles were found positioned in the southbound turn lane, with responders blocking lanes three and four to provide medical care and ensure scene safety. At least one individual was injured, though the extent of those injuries has not been confirmed.
Fire and EMS personnel remained on-site while evaluating those involved and coordinating traffic control in the affected area. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
