Highway Safety and Collision Prevention on I-95
I-95 is one of Connecticut’s major highways, frequently used by both commercial and commuter traffic. Crashes involving tractor-trailers, especially those that result in spilled loads like plywood, can cause significant traffic disruptions and increase the risk of severe injuries. These types of accidents also have the potential to block lanes for extended periods, as seen in this incident.
Connecticut traffic reports indicate that incidents involving large vehicles on highways are often caused by factors such as speeding, driver distraction, or failure to maintain control. Drivers should exercise caution, maintain a safe distance from large trucks, and reduce speeds, particularly in adverse road conditions or when approaching exit ramps.
Victims of serious highway crashes may face significant medical expenses, recovery time, and insurance issues. Prompt medical care, thorough documentation, and legal consultation are essential steps for navigating the aftermath of such accidents.
