Williams Township, PA (September 11, 2025) – A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, September 9, when a 65-year-old bicyclist was killed in a collision with a Honda Accord in Williams Township, Northampton County. The crash occurred at the intersection of Steely Hill Road and County Line Road around 10:09 a.m.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, 84-year-old James J. Pavlica, of Kintnersville, was driving a 2017 Honda Accord westbound on County Line Road. Pavlica turned right onto Steely Hill Road at the same time that 65-year-old Robert P. Marley, of North Wales, was riding his bicycle south on Steely Hill Road. Marley attempted to turn left onto County Line Road as both units approached each other.
Troopers explained that as the vehicles neared, Marley swerved toward the eastern shoulder in an attempt to avoid the oncoming Honda but was unable to evade the collision. The Accord struck Marley with its front end, causing him to impact the vehicle’s bumper, hood, windshield, roof, and back window.
Despite wearing a helmet, Marley sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Pavlica was uninjured in the incident.
