Semi-Truck Accidents in Rural Arizona
Highway stretches like US 60 near Wittmann can be particularly dangerous due to high-speed traffic, long travel distances, and frequent truck traffic. When collisions involve commercial vehicles like semi-trucks, the force of impact can lead to devastating injuries, especially for passengers in smaller vehicles.
According to 2024 state data, rural Arizona has seen an increase in truck-involved accidents, many of which occur along US highways with limited shoulder space and infrequent passing zones. These crashes often result in higher injury severity, especially when children are involved.
Drivers are urged to remain vigilant when sharing the road with large trucks. Maintaining safe following distances, avoiding sudden stops or lane changes, and being cautious near curves and intersections are critical to preventing serious incidents.
